Joyful Motion Dance was founded by Owner & Director Alycia Carlson in 1990. In the beginning classes were held in cooperation with MNCPPC at the Beltsville Community Center. Since that time the program has grown to encompass our private studio facility and five satellite parks and recreation locations serving over 500 students throughout the Central Maryland Area. This website serves two of those locations ... our Savage Maryland studio and our Laurel Maryland parks and recreation satellite program.
Offering a comprehensive dance program for children ages 2.5 to Teen, the philosophy of Joyful Motion is to foster a love of dance while building a strong technical foundation. Whether dancing just for fun or in the pursuit of a professional career, it is very important to have the proper training at the proper time and Joyful Motion prides itself on adhering to this concept. With a concentration on combination classes where the student is exposed to various styles of dance and movement in one class, Joyful Motion is able to train well rounded dancers. We also offer fun and relaxed adult classes.
